123-room W Hotel Verbier to Open in Switzerland in December 2013

Verbier, Switzerland - September 3, 2013 - Starwood Hotel & Resorts will debut the W brand in Switzerland with the opening of W Verbier and The Residences at W Verbier. Slated to open in December 2013, W Verbier will be W's first alpine and ski resort and will mark the entrance of W Hotels into Switzerland, further strengthening its position as a global lifestyle brand. Located at the base of the mountain in the 'Medran' area of Verbier, W Verbier and The Residences at W Verbier are part of a multi-component luxury development project owned by Les Trois Rocs.

W Verbier will offer 123 rooms for jet setters seeking extraordinary travel experiences. Situated in four adjacent characteristic chalets on the Place Blanche, the heart of the Medran Project, the hotel will be conveniently located next to the main gondola offering immediate access to the resort's ski slopes, making it the perfect ski-in and ski-out experience. The Residences at W Verbier, with 15 W-branded, full-service residences, are located right next to the hotel. W Verbier will also offer W's signature Whatever/Whenever service, the hotel's 24-hour concierge that can provide whatever guests want -- from state-of-the-art ski equipment to private jet service - whenever they want it.

Owners of The Residences at W Verbier will also enjoy access to the facilities at W Verbier including W signature offerings such as the destination bar, W Cafe, W Living Room, and an Away Spa and Sweat (W's take on the traditional fitness centre) and an indoor/outdoor Wet deck (W's take on the traditional pool deck). The Residences at W Verbier will be inspired by the contemporary design of the hotel, offering an exciting new addition to the destination. The signature restaurant at W Verbier will be in collaboration with two-Michelin Star Chef Sergi Arola, known for his modern, urban Spanish cuisine. The restaurant at W Verbier is set to become a local hot spot, featuring a dining and bar area where stylish holidaymakers and residents can mingle over a variety of cocktails and contemporary tapas with a modern Swiss twist.
