Hotel Brunelleschi Offers Dan Brown Inferno Package

. August 19, 2013

August 19, 2013 - Great Hotels of the World member, Hotel Brunelleschi in Florence, has been mentioned twice in Dan Brown's new novel Inferno, the Da Vinci Code sequel. In response, Hotel Brunelleschi has launched an Inferno package to celebrate the bestselling book and to give guests the unique opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Professor Robert Langdon in Florence.

“It was early evening when Langdon made his way across Piazza Elisabetta and returned to Florence's elegant Hotel Brunelleschi. Upstairs in his room...”

Professor Robert Langdon, who plays the protagonist, describes the city centre of Florence with the famous Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore and its celebrated dome, designed by Italian architect Filippo Brunelleschi, whom the hotel is named after. Hotel Brunelleschi, boasting a striking location, overlooks Florence's famous Cathedral (Duomo), Palazzo della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery and is just a short walk from Ponte Vecchio. The package launched by the hotel includes a guided tour on the path of the main characters, visiting some of Florence's landmarks.

“We'd be living in luxury. They're giving me a room at the Brunelleschi”, is what Robert Langdon told Sophie in the Da Vinci Code. In Inferno, the Harvard professor of religious symbology is called to solve a new mystery based on Dante's The Divine Comedy poem: "Langdon exited the hotel, carrying the delicate package with him in a delicate tote bag, which he had borrowed from the concierge."

To follow in the footsteps of Robert Langdon, Hotel Brunelleschi's Inferno package includes a two-night stay in a classic executive double room, sumptuous buffet breakfast, an Inferno tote bag, which Robert Langdon used to carry his “delicate package” and a half day Inferno guided tour (4 hours), where guests can follow the adventures of Robert Langdon and his hidden antagonist. The tour will visit the Palazzo della Signoria, the impressive Salone dei Cinquecento at Palazzo Vecchio, the octagonal Baptistery of St. John, the historic Florence Cathedral, Boboli Gardens and Dante's house and church. Also included in the package is free admission to the hotel's Museo della Pagliazza, which features Roman archaeological findings and a Roman caldarium, discovered during the restoration of the medieval tower.

Hotel Brunelleschi's Inferno Package is available from £345 per night until May 31 2014. For more information or to book this offer, please visit http://www.ghotw.com/hotel/offer/14624/Hotel-Brunelleschi.htm or call 020 7380 3658.
