Bluegreen Vacations Associate Wins Soroptimist International Award
Boca Raton, FL - July 18, 2013 - Bluegreen Corporation (dba Bluegreen Vacations), a leading vacation ownership marketing, sales and hospitality company, announced that Bluegreen associate Mariela Montgomery was recently awarded the prestigious Alicia Zachman Emerging Leader Award from Soroptimist International (SI), a worldwide service organization for women.
The Award program was implemented by Soroptimist International to identify, recognize and nurture Soroptimists in the Southern Region who have demonstrated a commitment to the global community's mission, but have not yet held a leadership position beyond the club level. Winners are chosen based on their ability to inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.
Mariela was one of six active members that applied for this award. As an award winner, she will be participating in the Leadership Training workshops at the District meetings in October 2013.
“I am so grateful to have the opportunity to attend the Leadership Training workshops, said Mariela. “Learning is a continuous process and I'm especially excited to learn more leadership tips. The workshops will help me become a stronger leader, which will in turn allow me to be more effective and efficient when carrying out Soroptimist's mission of improving the lives of women and girls in our community.”
Mariela is currently the President of the Boca Raton-Deerfield Chapter of SI and has been a willing volunteer and major contributor of her time and energy to her local club for over 4 years.
