Courtyard by Marriott in Coatesville, PA Recognized with Marriott's Construction Excellence Award

Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corp. and Waterford Hotel Group Praised for Best Prototype Project

. March 01, 2013

COATESVILLE, PA - March 1, 2013 - The Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Coatesville has been recognized by Marriott International with a Construction Excellence Award in the category of Best Prototype Project. Marriott presented the award, a LEGO® replica of the Courtyard by Marriott Coatesville, to Waterford Hotel Group representatives at an awards ceremony during its annual combined select-service and extended-stay Owners Conference held recently in Phoenix. The conference was attended by more than 1,000 representatives from associates of Marriott International, Marriott owners and franchisees, and Marriott product vendors. The new Courtyard Philadelphia Coatesville opened its doors in May 2012, marking a major Courtyard milestone as the 500th in the Courtyard brand to feature Marriott's “refreshing business” makeover.

The 125-room, four-story Courtyard Philadelphia Coatesville is part of a 22-acre redevelopment project known as “30 West”. The project represents a major public-private partnership in creating new jobs in this formerly industrial town while building a modern gateway to Coatesville from the region's central intersection of routes 30 and 82. Located at 600 Manor Road, the hotel is owned by Coatesville Inn Associates, an affiliate of the hotel's developer Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corporation; operates as a Marriott franchise; and, is managed by Waterford Hotel Group.

Criteria for award selection included excellent implementation of brand standard design and adherence to Marriott prototype plans, innovative and efficient processes to deliver the high-quality project quickly, and a demonstrated willingness to share information. “When you team up a developer with a 50-year history of first-class office and hotel buildings with one of the nation's leading hotel and convention center management companies, you are sure to have a winning team,” said Jeffrey Peters, Senior Manager - Project Management for Marriott International. “We are pleased to recognize Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corp. and Waterford Hotel Group with this Construction Excellence Award for their conscious attention to every detail, inexhaustible efforts during execution, and strong culture of accountability,” added Peters.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Marriott for the development of this beautiful hotel,” said Developer Donald W. Pulver, president of the Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corporation. “This is a perfect example of public and private coming together for progress and we are grateful to everyone involved who brought this project to fruition, including the Waterford Hotel Group team,” added Pulver.

The Courtyard Philadelphia Coatesville features the “refreshing business” lobby, which includes an open, bright and contemporary space, The Bistro restaurant, an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa, fitness center, guest laundry and a business center. The hotel also offers 1,100 square feet of meeting space to accommodate meetings and functions for up to 60 people. It offers guests convenient access to the QVC Home Shopping Network headquarters, Longwood Gardens, Amish Country and the Sight & Sound Theater.
