Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa Partners With Nancy Rothstein

The Sleep Ambassador to introduce a program designed to help guests and employees sleep, play and live well

. February 22, 2013

BEAVER CREEK, CO - February 22, 2013 - Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa has launched new Sound Sleep Initiatives aimed at ensuring both guests and employees have a great night's rest. The program, developed in partnership with The Sleep Ambassador®, Nancy H. Rothstein, encourages guests to play and live well by getting the quality and quantity of sleep they need for optimal health and well-being. The Sound Sleep Initiatives feature a series of tips, tools and programming for guests to utilize while vacationing in Beaver Creek, and when they return home.

The Sound Sleep Initiatives include elements that reflect the property's commitment to provide guests with an environment and services that support a great night's sleep including:

  • A special Sound Sleep TV Channel featuring specially composed music by world-renowned brain entrainment and sleep expert, Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, which enhances the guest's ability to receive restorative sleep.
  • A signature Slumber Massage at the Allegria Spa that soothes body and mind, ending in a brief nap that allows spa-goers to absorb the full benefits of their treatment.
  • Slumber Kits, including an eye mask, essential oil for sleep, earplugs and a sleep music CD.
  • The addition of sleep-friendly food and beverage items to the 8100 Restaurant Bar & Grill and In-Room Dining menus that help induce sleep, including Sleep Elixirs and special desserts.
  • Oxygen canisters and humidifiers to help guests adjust to the Rocky Mountain altitude

“The hotel industry is really in the business of sleep,” says Robert Purdy, General Manager of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa. “At our hotel, we want to do everything we can to ensure our guests have a fantastic night's sleep so they have the energy to explore and enjoy all the great outdoor activities Beaver Creek has to offer.”

According to the National Sleep Foundation, 60% of adults report sleep problems a few nights a week or more and a recent Harvard Medical School study found that 1 in 4 U.S. workers has insomnia, costing U.S. employers $63 billion in lost productivity each year.

As part of the Sound Sleep Initiatives, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and Nancy Rothstein have provided more than 150 associates with training on the importance of sleep to help with their personal health, productivity and well-being, and to familiarize them with the Sound Sleep Initiatives for hotel guests. The goal is for employees to become "sleep savvy."

“I am honored to collaborate with the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa on these groundbreaking initiatives to improve the sleep of both guests and employees,” says Rothstein. “Everyone needs a good night's sleep and I hope the work we are doing serves as a wake-up call to individuals and companies everywhere.”

Located in the heart of Beaver Creek with the mountain's only true ski-in, ski-out access, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek's enviable location is complimented by the resort's gracious luxe accommodations and amenities.
