McKibbon Hotel Management Promotes Top Leaders to President and EVP

Randy Hassen and Bruce Baerwalde have over thirty-seven years of combined industry experience

TAMPA, FL - January 9, 2013 - McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc. of Tampa, Florida has announced the promotion of Randy Hassen to President and Bruce Baerwalde to Executive Vice President of the company. This restructuring solidifies the leadership of the hotel management company that has acquired 13 new properties in the last year and provides a strong direction for the future of the business.

In Hassen's new role, he will oversee the activities of all respective departments within the management company, including Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Revenue Management, eCommerce, Communications, Food & Beverage, and Engineering, and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Vann Herring . In Baerwalde's role, he will assume responsibility for all hotel operations, overseeing the activities of the company's Directors of Operations, and will report to President Randy Hassen.

“Randy and Bruce have been instrumental in the success of our company over the past 15 years,” explained former President/CEO Vann Herring, who will remain active with the company as CEO and member of McKibbon's Board of Directors. “With these promotions, we are ensuring the seamless continuation of McKibbon's approach to business and the unique culture our company upholds.”

Randy Hassen joined McKibbon in 1991 as a houseman at the Courtyard by Marriott in Athens, Georgia while he was a student at the University of Georgia. He progressed through a variety of positions of responsibility at the hotel, and accepted his first general manager assignment as the opening GM of the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa North in 1995, where he was awarded General Manager of the Year honors from Marriott International. In 1998, he went on to open a second hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Downtown. Randy was promoted to Director of Operations in 2000, Vice President of Operations in 2007 and Senior Vice President of Operations in 2009.

Bruce Baerwalde joined McKibbon in 1996 as the opening General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Gainesville, Florida. The following year in 1997, he moved to the Residence Inn by Marriott brand, serving as opening General Manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa North, which was awarded Opening Hotel of the Year by Marriott International. In 1998, Bruce moved on to open the Courtyard by Marriott Maitland/Orlando, and was recognized by Marriott as Opening General Manager of the Year for his efforts. Bruce was promoted to Director of Operations in 2000, Vice President of Operations in 2007 and Senior Vice President of Operations in 2009.
