PHOENIX, AZ - December 2i, 2012 - Best Western International announced today that its board of directors has elected Julie Montmaneix as board chair. Montmaneix is the owner and operator of the BEST WESTERN Kings Inn in Corona, Calif.

Montmaneix is a second-generation Best Western member. She was elected to the board in November 2009 and reelected in 2012 representing the interests of hotel owners in California, Nevada and Hawaii. She is a California native who grew up helping out at her family's Best Western in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. Montmaneix lived in Europe for 15 years, where she held a number of positions in marketing and strategic planning before returning to live in Irvine.

“Our directors give voice to the opportunities and challenges facing our owner-operators and help bring our brand priorities into focus,” said Best Western President and CEO David Kong. “Julie's deep Best Western roots and international perspective make her an ideal board chair for 2013.”

Beth Campbell, board director for northwestern United States, Alaska and Canada's western provinces was elected board vice chair for 2013. Director P.G. West, who represents Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming will serve as board secretary-treasurer. Both are hotel owner operators who have served as board chair in previous years.
