Lauren 'Larry' Koonin, CFO of Summit Hotel Management, Passes Away

August 30, 2012 - Lauren "Larry" Koonin passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on August 21, 2012.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Phillips, and father, Nathan Koonin. He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Betty Koonin; daughter, Sheryl Brown (Nick); daughter, Charla King (Jeff); and son, Kevin Adair (Cheryl); brother, Manny Koonin (Andrea); sister, Beverly Blasnik; and will be deeply missed by his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.

He was a loving husband and family member, and friend to many.

Larry was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY and attended New York City College. He had a long and prosperous career in the hospitality industry, owning and managing many hotels along the way. He was CFO of Summit Hotel Management in Indialantic, FL.

A remembrance of his life was celebrated on Friday, August 24th at 2 PM at the Brownlie - Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the Williams Childs Hospice House of Health First.
