Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel Set to Re-open September 15
August 27, 2012 - The Hiltons of Branson announced today that Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel, which was severely damaged in a February 29 tornado, is scheduled to re-open September 15. The Branson Convention Center, which sustained less damage than the adjacent hotel, reopened in May.
The hotel took a direct hit from the twister, causing millions of dollars of damage, but fortunately no serious injuries to guests or team members. Since then, workers have proceeded at an expedited pace to replace nearly 3,400 panes of glass, and nearly every square inch of carpeting throughout the 12-story structure.
“Given the extent of the damage we are very pleased with how the repairs turned out, and are now looking forward to welcoming guests again,” said Bill Derbins, general manager, Hiltons of Branson. “We are also very excited to announce that this massive project includes several green upgrades to the hotel.”
All 3,400 replacement windows feature the latest energy-efficient technology. In addition, new thermostats in all the guest rooms have a motion-detector system, which allows the room temperature to return to a pre-set level when the room is not occupied.
Also re-opening on September 15 is the hotel's signature restaurant, Level 2 Steakhouse, located on the second floor, as well as Clear, the hotel's popular cocktail lounge.
The hotel features 294 rooms, many offering scenic views of beautiful Lake Taneycomo, and Branson Landing. Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel is designated as a Four Diamond lodging establishment by the AAA (American Automobile Association).
