August 24, 2012 - She made such an impact, they named a suite after her - the 'Marilyn Monroe Suite' at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. In August 1962, the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe was broadcast across the world, yet her impact upon Hollywood means that now - 50 years later - her star is shining brighter than ever.

Fascination of the original blonde bombshell remains unsated, so for those wanting to see where it all began, The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in LA - which Marilyn called home for two years - is a good place to start with the hotel's newly launched Marilyn Monroe Romance package.

Available now until 31st December 2012, the package includes vintage Marilyn movies for guest's viewing pleasure along with unlimited in-room movie access and a bottle of bubbly and chocolate truffles. Guests will also receive two reserved lounge chairs by the pool, two Marilyn cocktails, breakfast on the balcony and tickets to the Marilyn exhibit.

The hotel's 'Marilyn Monroe Suite' - named in honour of its most iconic guest - exudes glamour and charm, making it clear to see why this was Monroe's favourite room of the hotel. The 750 square foot space overlooks the famous Tropicana Pool - where Marilyn posed for one of her first modelling shoots - from a large wrap around balcony which is accessible through a large sliding glass door, giving the room an indoor/outdoor resort feel. The presence of Monroe's history is evident with a back-lit photo of the Hollywood star mounted on the wall and guests can feel like they are walking in the footsteps of one of the most iconic and fascinating women in history. To add to its allure, the suite comes equipped with many luxurious amenities such as a Bose lifestyle CD player, flat screen TV and custom-made 400 thread-count SFERRA bed linens.
