Renovation and Rebranding Nears Completion for 197-room Crowne Plaza Boston-Woburn

Massachusetts - August 10, 2012 - Holiday Inn Boston-Woburn is now a Crowne Plaza Hotel. The large-scale overhaul to an upper scale Crowne Plaza Hotel is near completion. Business traveler response to the refurbished guest suites and updated conference space and meeting planning services has been excellent.

“Our building's exterior is 90% done and 114 of 197 guest rooms are finished,” said general manager Frank Vento about the custom-designed rooms now equipped with luxury baths and boutique-style decor including padded headboards, plush mattresses and bedding, state-of-the-art work centers and high definition 42” LCD televisions.

“This is a completely different hotel now,” said Vento, noting that longtime customers and new guests rave about the modernized rooms. “They compliment the contemporary design, the comfort of the beds, and the amenities that focus on multitasking travelers,” he said. Hotel features include an indoor pool and fitness center, 9,000 square feet of renovated meeting space, and Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill, a 260-seat sports bar and restaurant. Grace Pigott who coordinates hotel and conference planning for Analog Devices said her company has used the hotel for years. “It's in a convenient location, close to the highway and easy to get to from our Wilmington office and corporate headquarters in Norwood. This is the only hotel that offers large enough conference space to accommodate large meetings. The food is excellent and the audiovisual staff is topnotch. All we have to do is plug and play.”

Pigott admits that despite her positive experiences she was surprised when the hotel's renovation became the topic of conversation at a recent business meeting. “Men typically don't make comments about hotels,” she remarked. “But these four executives, from North Carolina, New Jersey and California, were impressed with everything about their rooms.” Pigott said she organizes an annual conference at a large Boston hotel every year and has never heard such positive responses. “There's lots of A plusses about this Crowne Plaza,” said Pigott. Simply put: “The hotel makes my job easier,” she said.
