Marcus Hotels Announces Sales Team Changes

. August 03, 2012

August 3, 2012 - Marcus® Hotels & Resorts has added Laura Lutter Cole to its corporate sales staff as a senior account executive, Kerry Doyne as private dining sales manager, and Kristine Baker as catering sales manager.

In her new role, Cole will represent the company's three Milwaukee properties, The Pfister Hotel, InterContinental Milwaukee, and Hilton Milwaukee City Center, focusing on group sales in the financial, banking and pharmaceutical markets.

“Through her many years in sales and as a business owner, Laura has fostered strong relationships within the Milwaukee community,” said Linda Price Topp, market director of sales and marketing for Marcus Hotels. “We're confident her expertise and superior customer service will help to further those relationships and expand upon Marcus' reputation as the premier destination for business professionals.”

Prior to her new role on the corporate sales staff, Cole served for two years as director of restaurant sales focusing on private dining and events at Marcus Hotels' Milwaukee properties. Prior to her career at Marcus, she owned and operated a popular, local men's clothing store after spending four years as a program manager at Ernst & Young. She has more than 10 years of sales experience. Cole attended University of Wisconsin—La Crosse, earning a bachelor's degree in public administration and political science. She completed graduate studies at Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Replacing Cole as private dining sales manager for all three Milwaukee hotels is Kerry Doyne, who joins Marcus Hotels from the United Performing Arts Fund where she was a senior development director, spending more than seven years raising funds to support arts in the Milwaukee community.

“Kerry has been very active in the Milwaukee community over the past several years and has created a large network of relationships,” said Sydney Johnson Waisanen, director of catering sales for Marcus Hotels. “We're thrilled to have her join our team and look forward to her leveraging her extensive contact network to develop new relationships and opportunities for our company.”

Another addition to the Marcus Hotels sales staff is Kristine Baker, the new catering sales manager for the three hotels, working primarily with Milwaukee's non-profit market. Baker also comes to Marcus Hotels from the United Performing Arts Fund, where she worked for the past five years as a development director. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay.

“Kristine's extensive background working for non-profits will be a huge asset to our team,” explained Waisanen. “She's been in their shoes before, so she knows where they're coming from—she can see things from their perspective. She'll be able to keep her clients within their budgets, while still helping them to create beautiful, unforgettable events.”
