Henderson, NV - July 9, 2012 - Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, a Pyramid Resort Group property, has announced the appointments of two leading hospitality professionals to lead the newly rebranded destination resort in Henderson, Nevada: Greg Gooding as General Manager and Jeffrey Spaccio as Director of Sales.

"Greg and Jeff have already proven their expertise and value to us at Pyramid-managed properties, and we're delighted to have them in two of the top spots at our newest address in 'The Other Vegas,' just beyond the buzz of the Strip," said Jim Dina, Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Pyramid Resort Group.

Greg Gooding
As General Manager, Greg Gooding is responsible for all operations at Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa. He brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to his new position.

Gooding arrived in Henderson from Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld, a 1,094-room property managed by Pyramid Hotel Group, where he had been General Manager since 2008. During his time there, the resort was named one of the Best Place to Work by the Orlando Business Journal in 2011, and was awarded Sales Team of the Year by Pyramid Hotel Group in 2010 and Developer of the Year by Hilton in 2009.

Previously he served as General Manager at South Seas Island Resort, a 330-acre luxury address on Captiva Island, Florida, where he led 500 employees through an 18-month, multimillion-dollar revitalization and rebranding following extensive damage caused by Hurricane Charley in 2004. The resort debuted to numerous accolades, including ranking as one of the top three family resorts in the country by Parents magazine.

Before taking the reins on Captiva Island, Gooding spent nearly a decade with Wyndham Worldwide, managing leading luxury properties across North America and the Caribbean and earning recognition for spearheading training programs that took hotel amenities and services beyond brand standards. He was honored with numerous awards along the way, including Manager of the Year and Leadership Manager of the Year.

Born in Montreal and raised in Toronto, Gooding studied Hotel & Restaurant Management at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario. In addition to his career on the hotel floor, he has taught Hospitality Management Skills at George Brown College of Hospitality in Toronto.

Jeffrey Spaccio
As Director of Sales, Jeffrey Spaccio is responsible for all sales efforts at Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, including creating innovative strategies to draw group clientele to the property's 90,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Spaccio arrived in Henderson from Miami, where he spent the past 15 months working with Pyramid Hotel Group - first as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hilton Miami Downtown, then as Director of Sales & Marketing-Special Projects for the hotel management firm.

Previously, Spaccio held an array of sales management positions at hotel and resort properties within Florida. He was Area Director of Sales & Marketing at Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront and Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront; and Director of Sales & Marketing at Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove and Doubletree Grand Hotel-Biscayne Bay. He got his start in the hospitality industry as a Sales Manager for Hilton Melbourne at Rialto Place back in 1997.

A native of Central Florida, Spaccio earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, as well as an Associates degree in Arts from Brevard Community College.
