8Hotels to Manage 81-room Albany Hotel in Melbourne Suburb

. June 06, 2012

South Yarra, AUSTRALIA - June 6, 2012 - 8HOTELS has expanded its southern states portfolio, taking over the management of Albany Hotel, an 81-room hotel located in the upmarket inner-city Melbourne suburb of South Yarra.

The Albany Hotel brings to four, the number of Victorian properties within the 8Hotels Collection, which also includes Pensione Hotel Melbourne, the St Kilda based Cosmopolitan Hotel and the award-winning Hepburn at Hepburn located in the Spa Country.

It is the 17th member hotel of the 8Hotels Collection.

8Hotels Founder and CEO, Paul Fischmann said he was very pleased to have added another property to the portfolio in Melbourne.

“We have seven properties in Sydney and we would love to have an equally large presence in Melbourne, so the addition of The Albany, which has all the character and charm that you would expect from an 8Hotels Collection property is a very nice addition,” Fischmann said.

The Albany Hotel is a quirky three star boutique hotel, with 81-rooms, a breakfast room, small bar, 24 car spaces & a rooftop pool. Room types vary from budget-friendly basic rooms, to spacious suites within the original mansion.

Ideally located nearby the Melbourne Botanic Gardens, Schools, Hospitals, Toorak Road and Chapel St, the hotel attracts both leisure and corporate travellers.

The operating agreement for the Albany Hotel was made with 8Hotels following the sale of the heritage-listed building to a new owner.
