Tropicana Announces Multi-phase Renovations
May 18, 2012 - Tropicana Casino & Resort Atlantic City has announced a series of significant renovation projects that will include major improvements to its guest rooms, restaurants and casino floor, as well as considerable changes to its nightlife offerings. Construction will begin in the Fall 2012 and will be completed by the end of the year.
“We are excited to embark on these extensive renovations to one of Atlantic City's premier entertainment destinations,” said Tony Rodio, President and Chief Executive Officer for Tropicana Entertainment Inc. “These projects provide us with the opportunity to bring new excitement to Tropicana and further enhance comfort and experience for our guests.”
Included in the plans are renovations to 16 floors of the NorthTower, which include 437 standard rooms and junior suites. Overseeing the design and aesthetics are Bergman Walls and Associates, Atlantic City-based SOSH Architects and Steelman Partners. The new rooms will feature sleek, contemporary furnishings, bold graphic carpeting, textured wall coverings and modernized bathrooms. “Due to the commitment and support for Atlantic City from both city and state, we are confident to make this type of reinvestment” says Rodio.
In addition, a new Italian fine dining restaurant will be introduced and will offer a plush, comfortable atmosphere featuring a private dining room and 150 seats. The new Italian restaurant will be located next to FIN with a beautiful Trattoria anchoring the two gourmet restaurants.
The new Trattoria, a restaurant-within-a-restaurant, will offer guests a casual Italian Cafe dining experience. Hardwood floors, textured brick walls, a brick pizza oven and pendant lights that provide an invitingly rustic backdrop to a tempting menu of pizza, salad and pastas. This 140-seat cafe will offer lunch, dinner and late night menus.
Tropicana is known for their wide range of nightlife options. They have already broadened that range by opening the highly anticipated Boogie Nights dance club, which features state-of-the-art sound, lighting and interactive environments. They will take it one step further by expanding Tango's Lounge. The expanded space will include over 30 additional seats, a new dance area, and a relocated stage adjacent to Boogie Nights.
Additionally, the casino floor will be further enhanced with close to a $4 million investment in over 150 state-of-the-art slot games.
“These significant renovations reinforce our ongoing investment in Atlantic City. We are committed to working with the city and area businesses to continue to evolve Atlantic City's reputation as a vibrant entertainment choice and a world-class, multiday tourist destination,” added Rodio.
Tropicana officials state this construction project will create additional opportunities for in-house and new employees, as well as construction trade unions.
