The Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College Appoints Joseph A. Mellia GM
BOSTON - October 27, 2011 - The Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College is pleased to announce that veteran hotel management professional, Joe Mellia , has been named General Manager of this renowned historic inn. Joe brings 25 years of service and experience in the hospitality industry to The Hanover Inn.
Most recently Joe served as Hotel Manager at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Boston's only five star waterfront hotel. During his nine years at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Joe also held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. His career began with Stouffer / Renaissance Hotels & Resorts where he spent an impressive sixteen years at a variety of luxury properties throughout the country, including Chicago, Baltimore, Orlando and San Francisco.

Joe has a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University and an Associates in Applied Science - Hotel and Restaurant Management from the State University of New York (SUNY) Delhi. Additionally, Joe has been a nominee for the “Manager of the Year” award by the Massachusetts Lodging Association. He is active in several charities and organizations, including one which is very dear to him; The Seat Swap, “Providing the Gift of the Game” to under privileged and children of need in Massachusetts's South Shore community.
