RIU Hotels & Resorts opened on May 1st two hotels in Morocco, one in the Moroccan resort of Agadir and the other in the city of Marrakech. Thanks to the excellent partnership built since 2002 with the Tikida Group, the hotel chain continues its growth in the North African country where it already has three hotels, one in Marrakech and two in Agadir. Due to its beauty, quality of service, climate and proximity, the Moroccan destination has attracted through out the years customers and partners of the hotel chain.

The RIU Grand Palace Tikida Golf is a boutique hotel of 54 rooms, located in the middle of the golf course Du Soleil. This hotel, together with the RIU Grand Palace Maspalomas Oasis Gran Canaria, is the second hotel of the exclusive and luxurious range Riu Grand Palace. The new building has two swimming pools, a fine restaurant with wine cellar and provides a free shuttle bus twice a day for all those guests who wish to use the facilities of the ocean front property Riu Tikida Beach hotel.

After making special renovations to adapt the facilities to the high quality standards of the Spanish hotel chain, RIU also opened the Riu Tikida Garden hotel in Marrakech. The hotel features 255 rooms, the renowned RIU All-Inclusive service and a wide gastronomic offer in its three restaurants, making this property the ideal choice to enjoy a family holiday.

For the upcoming winter season 2011, the company has scheduled its third opening in Morocco. The RIU Palace Tikida Agadir will be a luxurious 462 room resort which will offer the distinguished RIU service and haute cuisine. The hotel will be RIU Hotels & Resorts third hotel in Agadir and the sixth from the hotels chain portfolio in Morocco.

Carmen Riu, CEO of RIU Hotels & Resorts, has stated that "Morocco is a fascinating country for its rich culture and exotic traditions. This, together with its scenery, beaches and great food make Morocco a complete tourist destination that attracts every year thousands of tourists." She adds that with the Tikida Group they have found the ideal partner "to grow in the country since both companies share the same values: a strict commitment to quality, dedication to service and excellent value for money."
