Designers and Hotel Owners/Operators Converge
WHITE PLAINS, NY, September 7, 2006...Destination DesignTM, a comprehensive lineup of education, resources and networking for hospitality property owners, operators and designers, will debut at the upcoming International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show(R) (IH/M&RS), November 11-14, 2006, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Hotel and restaurant owners looking to improve the aesthetic appeal of their properties will discover the necessary resources and insight at Destination Design, through a dedicated educational track, high-end design products within the show's Luxury Product Collection and networking opportunities with key industry professionals.

Destination Design will open with a full day of educational programming on Saturday, November 11, as a dedicated track within the Hospitality Leadership Forum, followed by three full days of exhibits featuring artwork, bathroom fixtures, bedding, drapery, decorative accessories, floor and wall coverings, furniture and lighting. The educational component will feature seminars presented by noted speakers representing both operators and specifiers, presented in collaboration with Hotel Design and Hotel Business magazines. Following the seminar component, participants will discover new products and resources throughout the Luxury Product Collection. Introduced at the IH/M&RS in 2004, this sector of the Show features more than 50 exhibitors of high-end design resources, including such companies as Anichini Hospitality (bedding), Viz Glass (hand-blown glass chandeliers), Julian Nyland (furnishings), Aquaware America (bathroom fixtures), Ultimate Spread (serveware), Dorothy Prentice Aromatherapy (bath and spa amenities), Oceana (glass sinks), Lambert by Natural Design (furnishings and accessories) and Via Motif (decorative accessories).
Hospitality designers will network while celebrating the year's greatest new hotels and restaurants at the 26th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design, honoring properties with innovative design elements and compelling themes. The finalists and winners - as well as the "Designer of the Year" - will be honored at the Gold Key Awards Breakfast on Monday, November 13, 2006, 7:30 - 9:30 am, at New York City's Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The 91st annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 11, through Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 11, the IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 12, through Tuesday, November 14. The market presents some 1,250 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 35,000 in total trade attendance.
