Hyatt Regency Buffalo Completes Renovation
Newly Redesigned Hotel Adds Full-Service Spa & Indoor Rooftop Pool
September 24, 2010 - Hyatt Regency Buffalo recently unveiled the full-service Spa Alexis and a refreshing indoor rooftop pool to mark the completion of a multi-year, $15 million renovation.
The project included stylish and tech-savvy additions to guestrooms, more than 21,000 square feet of function space, lobby, restaurants, Hyatt StayFit health club and public areas. With these changes, the hotel complements the connected Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, which is also undergoing a $7 million facelift, and the attached Buffalo Conference Center featuring 4,800 square feet of conference space.

The only one of its kind in Western New York, the indoor pool features panoramic views of Lake Erie and the city skyline from the 11th floor. A 24-foot ceiling brightens the 15,000 gallon stainless steel pool. Guests relax poolside under umbrella-accented tables and enjoy the sun through the atrium glass windows. Refreshing saltwater filtration provides clean, purified water without the unappealing smell of chlorine. The pool had been closed since 1993.
Spa Alexis, located on the lobby level, offers a complete array of services including hair, nails, facials, massages, tanning and other personalized treatments. Spa packages, booked directly through Spa Alexis, as well as hotel packages including Hyatt Regency Buffalo's Balance Package, offer both hotel guests and the local community the opportunity to experience the new facility.
The hotel's new design boasts a warm and contemporary decor with rich textures and a chic palette of watery blue and chocolate brown that pays homage to Hyatt Regency Buffalo's proximity to such spectacular natural resources as Niagara Falls and Lake Erie.
Opened in 1984, the hotel offers a 396 guestrooms and suites. Renovated rooms feature pillow-top Hyatt Grand Beds™, 32-inch flat-screen televisions with digital video-on-demand and premium cable, new bathrooms and furniture, as well as large workstations with high-speed wired Internet access.
Updates have also been made to EB Green's Steakhouse, voted one of the top 10 independent steak houses in the country. The new Atrium Bar and Bistro features an eclectic bar and comfortable seating area, and offers a bistro-style menu for breakfast, lunch and late-night dining.
