PA Tourism & Lodging Assoc Names Leeann MacWilliams Interim Operating Officer
Harrisburg, PA - July 6, 2010 - The Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association (PTLA) is pleased to announce that Leeann MacWilliams has been named Interim Operating Officer after the departure of President Barry Wickes on June 25th.
“The Board is pleased that Leeann has accepted this leadership position. She, along with the staff, are committed to moving PTLA forward,” said James Purdum, CHA, PTLA Chairman and General Manager, Penn State Hospitality Services.
Leeann was previously the Vice President for the PTLA. She is a graduate of the hospitality program at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA and has worked in the field for over 20 years. She has held various positions as Regional VP of Operations, General Manager (hotels & stand-alone restaurants), VP of Sales & Marketing, and Director of Recruitment
MacWilliams is currently the co-chair of the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Membership, Sales & Marketing Committee and is a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Food & Beverage Committee. She is also involved in many other industry associations and organizations.
She is the state liaison for the AH&LA student chapter at Penn State, University Park. Leeann is still very active with the hospitality program at Penn State by mentoring students and attending the annual Alumni in the Classroom days held in October each year.
