Faces in New Places at Fairmont

June 17, 2010 - With a growing collection of luxury hotels, that now includes more than 60 properties worldwide, Fairmont is pleased to announce several recent management and supervisory level appointments across its portfolio. These include:

  • Lisa Tiernan , who joins Fairmont as director, sales & marketing at the Fairmont Battery Wharf, Boston. Tiernan is no stranger to Boston and joins Fairmont from XV Beacon Hotel, a boutique hotel in the city, where she previously served as the hotel's director, sales & marketing. With over a decade in hospitality sales, Tiernan brings extensive knowledge and experience to her new role.

  • Luke Sunderland , who takes on the role as director, sales & marketing, The Fairmont Banff Springs. Sunderland has spent nearly a decade working in sales at a variety of Fairmont properties and most recently held the position of director, sales & marketing at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where record sales numbers were achieved under his leadership.

  • Jim McEachern , who takes on the role as director, sales & marketing, for The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Beginning his career nearly 30 years ago, McEachern brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience to this world-famous lodge. McEachern returns to Canada from the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where he was serving as director, sales & marketing on an interim basis.

  • Lauren Carr , who takes on the role as director, sales & marketing, Fairmont Newport Beach. Carr has held several sales manager positions over her career and most recently held the role of director, group sales, The Fairmont Washington, D.C.

  • Adam Knight , who takes on the role of director of operations of Fairmont Newport Beach. Knight brings over fourteen years of experience with Fairmont to the position, having progressed from room service server and steward at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to his most recent position as director of outlets at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle.

  • Michael Nzile , who joins Fairmont as director of operations, of Fairmont The Norfolk. Nzile has held a variety of hospitality positions over his 25 year career and returns to Fairmont after a brief stint with Jacaranda Hotels as general manager.

  • Vincent McGrath , who takes on the role of director of operations, at The Savoy in London. Most recently, McGrath held the role of director, food & beverage at the historic property, where he has been instrumental in preparing the hotel for its re-opening following an extensive, multi-year restoration.

  • Janet Wruck , who takes on the role of director, human resources, for The Plaza, New York. Wruck is familiar with iconic city centre properties, starting a decade ago with the brand at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York as benefits specialist and recently holding the position of director, human resources, The Fairmont Washington, D.C.

  • Kathryn Lee , who has been named director, human resources, of The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Lee, who began her career with Delta Hotels & Resorts, brings a decade of human resource knowledge and previous Fairmont experience to the role.

  • Cajetan Araujo , who has been named director, food & beverage, at Fairmont Dubai. Araujo, who recently held the position of assistant director, food & beverage, at Bermuda's Fairmont Southampton, is a seasoned chef and food & beverage manager. Having worked worldwide in the hospitality industry, Araujo brings years of experience to his current role and a flare for culinary excellence.

  • Bob Ducy , who has been named director of engineering, at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. Ducy enters his new position after being with Fairmont for fifteen years as director of engineering at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, where he was responsible for the maintenance/engineering and landscaping departments.
