Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort Celebrates 25 Years
Resort Hosts Open House for Anniversary Celebration
Panama City Beach, Fla. — Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort, a property of The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach, will be celebrating twenty-five years in Panama City Beach during the months of November and December.
In 1984, construction began on Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort as a new vacation concept on Panama City Beach. During the early days of the mom-and-pop hotels, one of the first high-rise condominium developments began to grow from the dunes of the Gulf Coast. “At the time, the concept of a condominium was new to the area,” said Tom Sparks, general manager of The Resort Collection. “The concept of selling a vacation home that could also be a long-term investment was just starting to take shape.” Twenty-five years later, with more than 1,000 units owned by individuals, both local and from afar, Edgewater has become one of the most well know Gulf-front resorts on Panama City Beach.
“We have plenty of competition up and down the beach, but Edgewater's reputation and history makes the resort a great choice for families looking for the perfect beach vacation,” said Paul Wohlford, vice president of sales and marketing for The Resort Collection.
To celebrate the anniversary of the resort, an open house will be held each Thursday through Sunday at Edgewater's Gulf-front restaurant, Ocean's Bar and Grill. Ocean's will be offering happy hour drink specials, live entertainment, and Sunday brunch for locals and winter residents. “The Bay County community and winter residents have supported Edgewater though the shoulder season for the last twenty-five years; we'd like to welcome them to enjoy our beautiful view of the Gulf and specials at Ocean's,” said Sparks.
Specials will include Happy Hour on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. with $1 drinks and a free appetizer buffet, plus karaoke from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. On Saturday nights, Ocean's will offer a three-course steak dinner with live entertainment for only $10.99 per person. For Sunday Brunch, which is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., guests can enjoy Bloody Marys, Mimosas and live entertainment.
