Top 50 New Year's Eve Destinations

Las Vegas, New York City at Top of Survey

. October 14, 2008

NORWALK, CT, December 26, 2006. According to a new priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN) hotel survey, the Las Vegas Strip is the most-preferred New Year's Eve destination for the second year in a row.

To compile its list of top New Year's Eve destinations, priceline.com looked at a sampling of more than 30,000 hotel room booking requests made by priceline.com customers for the evening of December 31, 2006. Since the priceline.com study is based on actual booking requests, and not on consumer preference polls or votes, priceline.com believes the study is one of the more accurate predictors of future travel trends.

Priceline.com said it still has plenty of hotel rooms, vacation packages, cruises, airline tickets and rental cars available for those wishing to celebrate the New Year in a special place. In addition to its broad selection of published-price travel products, priceline.com enables customers to save even more by using its Name Your Own Price services for airline tickets, hotel rooms and rental cars. See www.priceline.com for examples and full details.

In addition to Las Vegas, several other destinations showed strong popularity for ringing in the New Year. Florida destinations took 15 of the top 50 spots on the list, the most of any state. New York City took four spots, all within the top 10.

Traditional parade and New Year's Eve celebration sites scored well on the list. New York's Midtown West, home to Times Square, was #5. Philadelphia, with its Mummers Parade, ranked #28. New Orleans' French Quarter continued its post-Katrina rebound, coming in at #31.

Priceline.com customers also showed a willingness to travel some distances for their celebrations. Maui and Oahu appeared on the list five times. Popular international destinations included London (which made the list twice), Paris and Sydney, Australia.
