New Air Transportation Guidelines
Transporting Sonoma Country Products
SONOMA COUNTY, CA, August 10. 2006. In response to the new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) carry-on restrictions for airline passengers the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau (SCTB) developed an area on the Web site to give visitors information on new airline carry-on policies.
The current policy states that Airline Passengers may not bring liquids or gels of any size through screening checkpoints or into the cabin of any aircraft. Prohibited items include beverages, shampoos, suntan lotion, creams, toothpastes, hair gel and other items of similar consistency. Such items may be transported in checked baggage.
The Sonoma County Tourism Bureau encourages visitors to ship their Sonoma Country goods directly from the retailer where they purchased the products. If visitors are unable to ship via the retailer, our Web site www.SonomaCounty.com gives visitors information on retail locations that pack and/or ship wine, olive oil or other liquid products purchased while visiting Sonoma Country.
The mission of the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau is to promote Sonoma Country's identity as a premier overnight destination with unique and diverse experiences. Air service to Sonoma County's Charles M. Schulz Airport via Horizon Airlines begins March 2007.
