RAL Promotes Stuart Taft to Managing DIrector, Acquisitions

NEW YORK, NY, July 27, 2006. Real estate firm RAL Companies & Affiliates, LLC has promoted Stuart Taft to Managing Director, Acquisitions. He was formerly Director of Acquisitions.

Mr. Taft joined RAL in 2002 and has since spearheaded the acquisition and financing of over $600 million in real estate projects, including the 1.5-million square-foot residential condominium One Brooklyn Bridge Park and a 148-unit luxury hotel/condominium in Telluride, Colorado. He is also active in RAL's residential conversions in Midtown Manhattan such as the firm's condominiums at Loft 25 in Chelsea and the New Yorker building on Third Avenue.

In his new role, Mr. Taft will continue to evaluate national real estate opportunities within the office, hotel, residential and retail sectors with a focus on unique properties that have value-add potential. His responsibilities include evaluating potential projects, site acquisition analysis, financial modeling, transaction execution and procurement of capital sources and partners.

Prior to joining RAL, Mr. Taft was Director of Real Estate for The Globix Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed web hosting company where he oversaw transactions and development. Prior to his work at Globix, Mr. Taft was a Vice President of Portfolio Management for Chase Manhattan Bank where he performed transactions and portfolio management for a national portfolio of over four million square feet, including Chase's own 1.2-million square-foot site at the Newport Office Center in Jersey City. Mr. Taft's prior experience includes working for The Rouse Company as a real estate manager at South Street Seaport in New York City. He was also a real estate associate with The Tribeca Corporation, a boutique investment/merchant banking company where he performed financial modeling for the acquisition of chain stores and operating companies.

Stuart Taft graduated from New York University, where he earned a Master of Real Estate Investment and Development degree. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany with a concentration in communications. He is also a New York State licensed real estate broker.
