Hilton Family of Hotels Offers TACS to Its North American Hotels
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 20, 2006. Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that it will offer Travel Agency Commission Services (TACS), an online resource for agencies and hotels to track their incoming and outgoing commissions and process future meeting planner commissions, at www.tacsnet.com. Initially, all hotels in the United States and Canada will be part of these new services. Hilton also is exploring ways to implement these new services to its hotels located outside of North America.
"We feel confident that these enhancements will engender loyalty and preference for the Hilton Family of Hotels among agents, and deliver cost-saving benefits to our hotels. These enhancements are possible due to the Hilton proprietary OnQ Property Management System and a new centralized distribution services technology platform utilized by over 2,400 Hilton hotels," said Mark Shindala, senior director distribution services for the Hilton Family of Hotels.
Without any membership fees, all agents will receive "preferred status," and be able to take advantage of many new features including:
Online, real-time commission tracking and payment processing
Automated helpdesk, 24 hours a day/seven days a week
Automated Clearing House/electronic payment options
26 months of historical data, and extensive web reporting
In addition to weekly commission payments, agents are now able to:
Review commission detail for a particular guest
Search for detailed check information on past or expected payments
View their statement in summary or detail via the web
Run payment reports for specific date ranges by hotel or chain
Receive commission inquiry assistance from Hilton Family customer service representative team
"For decades, Hilton has been a leader in the industry as it relates to our relationships with and support of travel agencies. This commission payment program will enable us to provide more accurate and timely service to valued travel agency professionals," said G.T. Dhillon, managing director of travel agency relations. "Travel agent bookings represent nearly 20 percent of overall Hilton bookings - representing significant value to our company -- and we want to ensure our agents and hotels receive the highest quality services and web-accessible reporting tools available in order to strengthen our mutually beneficial relationship with agents."
The new TACS website (www.tacsnet.com) is user-friendly and has a built-in instruction demo for easy access to commission information. Commission payments and reporting, in 41 payment currencies, are consolidated by agency, decreasing the number of commission payments to each agency. The TACS website may also be accessed thru the new Hilton Travel Agent Portal .
Electronic Reconciliation
The new program will feature electronic reconciliation services so that agent inquires are resolved and paid even faster than in the past.
Hotel Benefits
Participating Hilton Family hotels will have more advanced reporting tools than ever before to enable them to speed commission payment into the hands of the agent. Hotels will be able to access summary and detailed file information, invoice summaries, and detailed commission information by using the invoice number, confirmation number, check number or statement number. In addition to web friendly tools and Excel-, CSV-, or PDF-downloadable formats, hotels will be able to create ad-hoc reports. These tools will allow the hotels to save time researching travel inquiries and concentrate on Hilton Family guest experience.
