Peter Bowling Appointed General Manager of Capella Castlemartyr
COUNTY CORK, Ireland, December 4, 2006. Capella Hotels and Resorts announced today that Peter Bowling has been named general manager of Capella Castlemartyr, located in County Cork, Ireland. Capella Castlemartyr will be the first resort of the new Capella Hotels and Resorts collection to open to the public when it welcomes guests on June 1, 2007. In his position, Bowling will oversee all operations of the historic 104-suite manor house.
Capella Hotels and Resorts is a new top-tier hospitality brand led by legendary hotelier Horst Schulze. In addition to Castlemartyr, five other locations worldwide have been announced for the new brand, including properties in Austria, Germany, Singapore, Mexico and Telluride, CO.
Capella Castlemartyr will feature two restaurants, a world-class spa and an 18-hole, Ron Kirby-designed, links-style golf course, which will open in fall 2007, among its many offerings. Capella Castlemartyr will also be known for providing superlative individualized attention and one-of-a-kind experiences to guests, a cornerstone of the Capella brand, which promises to become the standard bearer in the luxury hospitality sector.

Bowling has more than two decades of industry experience. He served most recently as managing director of the renowned Jumby Bay, in Antigua, where his expertise helped guide the resort successfully through an extensive renovation and to gain international accolades.
Peter Bowling began his career in the hospitality industry in 1986 as general manager of Chilston Park Country House in Ashford, Kent, England where he helped transform what was a 12-room Queen Anne mansion into an award-winning, 42-room country house. He went on to serve as general manger of The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD; The Royal Pavilion in Barbados and the Cotton House Hotel in Mustique. Bowling also served as managing director at Villa Nova, Barbados' first boutique style hotel.
Bowling will reside in Ireland, County Cork, with his wife Kathy.
