Park Inn Makes a Splash in St. Petersburg with 50,000 Square Foot Waterpark
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, December 1, 2006. Park Inn, the mid-market hotel brand operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group, announces the re-branding of the Pribaltiyskaya Hotel in St. Petersburg to the Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya, effective January 1, 2007. The hotel is one of the largest in St. Petersburg with 1,200 rooms and is located just 10 minutes from the city center. The new Park Inn is the only hotel in the city, and the first Park Inn property, to feature it's own waterpark.
The most distinctive feature of the new Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya, the Waterville Aquapark, is operated as an integrated part of the hotel. The waterpark encompasses over 50,000 square feet and features a number of pools and waterslides, as well as lazy river, seven Jacuzzis, two children's pools and a supervised children's playground. The Waterville Aquapark is connected to the hotel spa center, which offers a sauna complex with dry saunas, steam baths and Russian banias, as well as beauty treatments including Thalassotherapy, water massages and a hair salon. For guests looking for leisure activities on dry land, the hotel also offers it's own bowling alley.
The Rezidor Hotel Group will start an extensive refurbishment program to re-design the guest rooms and renovate the conference and meeting facilities at the new Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya. All guest rooms, many of which offer views of the Gulf of Finland, and several conference areas will feature the designs of the Swedish interior designer Christian Lundwall. The hotel offers two restaurants, several bars and a fitness center with a pool. Additionally, the hotel offers extensive meeting and conference facilities, including an auditorium for up to 1,000 people. The hotel offers shuttle service to the city center where guests can find many of the main attractions in St. Petersburg, such as The Hermitage and Peter & Paul's Fortress.
The 1,200-room hotel will be the third Rezidor property in St. Petersburg, joining the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel and the Park Inn Pulkovskaya, bringing the total number of rooms operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group to over 2,000 in the city. The owner of all three properties is the Norwegian Wenaas Group.
'With the addition of the Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya, we are now the largest player in the St. Petersburg market,' said Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group. 'The new Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya is another important step in our strategic development in Russia, as Rezidor continues plans to expand in this exciting market.'
