PARK CITY, UT, November 28, 2006. Robert S. "Bob" McCleary, general manager of Manor Vail in Vail, has been inducted into the prestigious Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association's Hall of Fame. The presentation was made during the group's annual meeting at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs on Oct. 30.
The CH&LA, established in 1938, is an association of lodging industry professionals dedicated to improving the industry in Colorado. The group's Hall of Fame, started in 1989, honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the business. McCleary has been a member since 1988, serving continuously on the group's board of directors since 1990.
"Recognition of Bob by his peers in Colorado is a testament to his personal character and integrity. He continues to be an important part of the success of Premier Resorts," said Barbara Zimonja, president of the property management company.
McCleary joined Premier Resorts in 1993 when it was known at the time as Village Resorts. Prior to that, he was senior director of lodging at Colorado's Keystone Resort. He received the honor of Hotelier of the Year in 1998 from the CH&LA, and the association's President's Award in 2002.
McCleary was a volunteer fire fighter in the Summit County Snake River Fire District from 1981-1989, and served on the Fire District's board of directors from 1990-2004. He is currently the director of the American Hotel and Lodging Association's Condominium Committee.
