Michael Ferguson Named Director of Sales for New Castle's Courtyard in Shelton, CT
SHELTON, CT - July 18, 2005 - Michael Ferguson, whose hospitality career encompasses experience with top hotel products throughout Connecticut, has been named director of sales for the Courtyard by Marriott in Shelton, announced Gerald P. Chase, president, chief operating officer of New Castle Hotels & Resorts which co-owns and manages the property.
Ferguson brings more than 15 years experience to his role as director of sales. Prior to joining the New Castle team, he was director of sales and marketing at the Clarion Hotel in Norwalk, Conn. As director of sales, he will oversee all aspects of the Courtyard's marketing and sales efforts.
A member of Meeting Professionals International, Ferguson has extensive experience selling the Courtyard and other Marriott products. His previous hospitality industry experience includes director of sales for the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport and the Doubletree Club Hotel in Norwalk, general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Wallingford, assistant general manager of the same property, and other service positions with Marriotts in Farmington and Stamford.
He is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
The former Ramada hotel reopened as a Courtyard earlier this year. A multi-million dollar renovation upgraded the hotel's 161 guestrooms and public areas according to Marriott's recent redesign of the Courtyard concept.
