VLM Appoints David Nye as UK Regional Manager
LONDON, UK, July 29, 2005. VLM Airlines, London City Airport's largest carrier, has appointed David Nye, 40, as its UK Regional Manager from 1st August 2005. He joins VLM Airlines with over 10 years experience in aviation sales, marketing and operational management. Based at London City Airport, David will be responsible for continuing the successful development of the airline in its primary market, the UK.
In his new role, David will report to VLM Airlines' Commercial Director, Peter Kenworthy and will manage the UK's sales, marketing, PR and administrative teams. He will also oversee the airline's operation within the UK as well as developing relationships with key UK industry partners.

In 1989 David began his aviation career with Cathay Pacific Airways in the UK and advanced to Corporate Sales Manager UK and Ireland before moving into overseas roles for the carrier. He then joined Qatar Airways as Sales & Marketing Manager for the UK, Netherlands and Scandinavia before becoming Area Manager for the airline in Asia and the Far East.
Most recently, David was Business Sales Manager for Air France based in London, where he managed the team of national account managers and developed the airline's corporate accounts. He has a degree in Travel & Tourism and his interests outside of aviation include following football, motor racing, as well as travelling.
