MAY 1, 2009 - The masterminds behind the Thompson Hotel Group proudly announce a venture into the nightlife and restaurant scene with the Do Not Disturb Restaurant Group, a new partnership between Larry, Michael and Jason Pomeranc and Stephen Brandman. This group will manage and operate end-destination dining and nightlife spots throughout North America. Current projects include the food and nightlife venues at Thompson LES and Gild Hall in New York, Donovan House in Washington, D.C., and Hollywood Roosevelt in Los Angeles. The group also plans to open restaurant, bar and lounge spaces at Thompson Toronto in 2010.

"We are thrilled to be establishing this new brand within the hospitality industry," says co-owner Stephen Brandman, "We look forward to creating unforgettable dining experiences by fusing unique cuisine with innovative design."

Thompson LES features a number of restaurant and bar venues including famed Chef Susur Lee's Shang and the Shang Terrace, Above Allen and the pool bar. Shang is Lee's first gastronomic foray outside his hometown of Toronto, where he won accolades from top publications such as Gourmet and Food & Wine, and placement on various international lists including Restaurant World's '50 Best Restaurants'. Opened in December 2008, Shang was recently named "Best Cutting Edge Chinese" by New York Magazine.

LaSalle Hotel Properties, owners of Gild Hall in New York City's Financial District and Donovan House in Washington, D.C. has joint ventured with Do Not Disturb to conceptualize and operate The Libertine and Zentan. The Libertine, located at Gild Hall in Manhattan's Financial district, is an original concept of Jason Pomeranc and Stephen Brandman - a modern English tavern serving traditional favorites with a contemporary twist. Formerly managed by chef Todd English, Do Not Disturb Restaurant Group has taken over management of the restaurant and connecting Library Bar. Over the next several weeks, the group will develop a new summer menu, combining the traditional English classics with lighter fare options, a raw bar and a revised cocktail menu.

Chef Susur Lee will also head Zentan at Donovan House, which will feature his bold and inventive approach to pan Asian cuisine. The menu will feature favorites from Shang in NYC and his restaurant, Lee in Toronto, as well as a selection of sushi, sashimi and Asian crudos. Zentan is set to open June 8, 2009. In the meantime, guests can enjoy small bites, sushi and cocktails in the lobby bar and lounge.

"We have managed to establish Thompson Hotels as a go-to brand for chic, luxurious hotel experiences," says co-owner Jason Pomeranc, "I am confident we will be able to establish that same reputation for restaurants and nightlife venues with the new Do Not Disturb Group."
