Ocean Place Resort & Spa Awarded Gold Key from Meetings & Conventions Magazine
LONG BRANCH, NJ, July 30, 2005. The ballots are in, and once again Ocean Place Resort & Spa has been awarded the prestigious 2005 Gold Key Award from Meetings & Conventions magazine.
Bestowed upon some of the world's finest meeting properties, the winners are nominated and selected by the publication's 70,000+ subscribers who based their votes on overall professionalism and quality of the property. This year, 190 domestic and 20 international hotels and resorts were honored with a Gold Key distinction. Properties are judged on strict industry criteria including: staff attitude; quality of meeting rooms; quality of guest services; food and beverage service; proficiency of handling reservations; availability of technical/support equipment and range of recreational activities.
Considered one of New Jersey's premier oceanfront meeting destinations, the 254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa offers the perfect meeting venue ideal for hosting large conferences, corporate retreats, banquets, weddings and other special events. Located less than an hour from midtown Manhattan and the Newark International Airport, the resort's 42,000 square feet of meeting and event space and 38 dedicated meeting rooms are capable of accommodating groups from 10 to 800.
Ocean Place Resort & Spa features the Ocean View Dining Room, Ocean View Lounge, an impressive outdoor patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a full-service European style spa, deluxe fitness center, two tennis courts, two sparkling pools and whirlpool. A myriad of off-property activities including shopping sprees into Manhattan, fishing excursions and nearby championship golf are also available.
In addition, the recently opened Pier Village, a luxury residential and retail development complex adjacent to the resort features more than 100,000 square feet of boutiques, specialty shops, cafes, restaurants and luxury rentals complimenting the resort's existing amenities and activities.
The resort is currently undergoing a $1.2 million room renovation that includes a complete soft-goods upgrade to the resort's 254 rooms. Estimated completion date is slated for the end of August 2005.
