Marriott Hartford Downtown Celebrates Third Anniversary
HARTFORD, CT, August 27, 2008. On Wednesday August 20, over 200 associates and managers gathered at the Marriott Hartford Downtown for a special ice-cream social to toast the hotel's third anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the Marriott Hartford Downtown team presented a check for $2,000 to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
"I want to thank each and every one of our associates for the level of service and enthusiasm they bring to work every day," said John Fraher, general manager of the Marriott Hartford Downtown. "Since opening three years ago, the Marriott Hartford Downtown has been designated Hartford's only AAA Four Diamond hotel and has earned numerous awards and accolades. We couldn't have done it without the efforts and commitment of our entire staff."
To celebrate the hotel's anniversary, a $2,000 check was presented to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center on behalf of the associates of the Marriott Hartford Downtown. The monies, which were raised through voluntary contributions and fundraising held by the associates of the hotel, will be used to continue to support vital programs dedicated to improving the physical and emotional health of children through family-centered care, research, education and advocacy.
"We are truly grateful to the employees of the Marriott Hartford Downtown for this wonderful and generous donation to support Connecticut Children's Medical Center," said Christopher Pates, director of development. "These funds will go far in helping us in our vital mission to provide the very best care and treatment to the children and families who turn to us in need."
Added John Fraher: "I am proud of our associates and their continued generosity and commitment to helping others in our community."
