Cook Islands Tourism Launches New Brand
OCTOBER 19, 2006. The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has announced the Cook Islands officially launched its new tourism branding and Web site at an exclusive event in Sydney, to reintroduce itself to Australia. The new tourism drive will encourage visitors to explore all the islands and the unique experiences they offer.
The new brand and Cook Islands Web site focuses on seven themes or "platforms" that illustrate the essence of the island's community, culture and environment. The seven include: My Family, Mystery & Legend, Romance, Adventure, Connection to the Environment, Gentle Immersion and Secluded Escape.
The Web site, www.cook-islands.com, is the start of the Cook Islands experience, according to New Zealand-based Mr Roger Slater, of Chisel Ltd, and Mr Chris Ivers, of Radical Alice. "The brand and Web site are the end product of many months of research, time, team work and planning. The Cook Islands is a special place, and to be able to portray this electronically was an exciting challenge as we strove to create the Cook Islands experience online."
