Staybridge Suites Invites Guests to 'Step Outside'
IHGs upscale extended-stay hotel brand launches Outdoor Living Room concept
ATLANTA, GA, November 9, 2007. Taking its indoor style to the outdoors, IHG's (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)] upscale extended-stay hotel brand, Staybridge Suites(R), today announces yet another way the brand is encouraging guest interaction and fostering a sense of residential community among long-stay guests. The new Staybridge Suites Outdoor Living Room concept features a place where guests can relax and interact alfresco surrounded by amenities such as stacked-stone fireplaces and high-definition televisions. On the heels of other recent residentially inspired brand enhancements, including the Staybridge Suites Gathering Table, the Just Like Home Theater and Wireless Anywhere, the Outdoor Living Room will make its debut at the Staybridge Suites Montgomery - EastChase, Ala., when the hotel opens next spring.
"At Staybridge Suites, we highly encourage guest interaction since our guests stay with us for weeks and months at a time. Guests feel a sense of community throughout the hotel, especially in our great room lobby in front of the fireplace," said Robert Radomski, vice president, Brand Management, Extended-Stay Brands, IHG. "Recently we launched a gathering table similar to that of a residential kitchen island where guests can comfortably interact during breakfast and evening Sundowner receptions," he added. "While socializing is popular indoors and beyond, the Outdoor Living Room is another way our guests can socialize and relax in an environment similar to what they expect at home."
The Staybridge Suites Outdoor Living Room concept will be available to new and existing hotels as a d'ecor option in 2008 and can include amenities such as:
-
Comfortable, all-weather outdoor living room furniture
-
Stacked-stone fireplaces
-
Open, landscaped gardens with water features and arbors
-
Gazebos with ceiling fans
-
High-definition televisions
-
Background music
The first Staybridge Suites Outdoor Living Room will be situated lakeside at the Montgomery - EastChase property and will feature several outdoor living areas with comfortable, all-weather teak furniture set amidst extensive resort-inspired landscaping including three oversized date palm trees imported from Arizona. The Outdoor Living Room will also feature multi-level garden trellises with ceiling fans, an outdoor stacked-stone fireplace with semi-circular seating and background music.
