HPL Continues to Drive GDS Bookings with Pegasus
SINGAPORE, September 18, 2006. HPL Hotels & Resorts announced that it has renewed its agreement to use Pegasus Solutions for another two years.
The Singapore-based hospitality management company, operated and wholly owned by Singapore public-listed company Hotel Properties Limited (HPL), currently manages the activities of eight hotels and resorts with a total of 2,100 rooms in the Asia-Pacific region and the Indian Ocean.
A customer of Pegasus Solutions since 2004, HPL Hotels & Resorts will continue to use Utell by Pegasus and Unirez by Pegasus to continue increasing the group's business from global distribution systems (GDS).
According to Ms Karen Chan, Marketing Communications Manager for HPL Hotels & Resorts, the content and distribution provider offers the group a cost-effective and efficient method to reach out to the world's travel agencies and consortia.
"For an independent hotel group, it is vital for us to link up with major GDS and as many Internet partners as possible," said Ms Chan. With a mix of city hotels, themed resorts and boutique hotels in their portfolio, HPL Hotels & Resorts recognises that Pegasus Solutions is able to provide the hotels and resorts with flexible marketing and automated distribution services to meet each individual property's respective needs and requirements.
"Pegasus Solutions as a universal electronic reservations switch has helped us to strengthen each property's profile in the market," said Ms Chan. "It allows us to provide real time access to inventory and rates to our travel agent partners for effective channel management control over GDS, hence contributing a consistent increment to our online business over the last two years."
