Cornell Hospitality Research Summit 2014 Seeks Presentations on the Future of Service Innovation
Ithaca, NY - January 23, 2014 - The Cornell Hospitality Research Summit 2014 has opened its search for forward-looking presentations on the future of service innovation. Designed as a forum for direct, research-based dialog between industry and academe, CHRS 2014 will focus on innovations and facilitate innovative networking throughout the entire hospitality and tourism industry. With a theme of "The Future of Service Innovation: The New Science of People, Organizations, Data, and Technology," CHRS 2014 is scheduled for October 2014 at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
"Innovation is the lifeblood of the hospitality, travel, and tourism industry. As you see from the summit theme, we seek a wide, diverse range of presentations across all aspects of the hospitality and tourism industry," said CHRS 2014 co-chair Cathy Enz. "We encourage people with innovative ideas to visit our website and submit a proposal. We want to hear about new ideas and also innovative solutions to existing challenges at this summit."
"CHRS 2014 will go beyond presenting new knowledge, although that is essential," added CHRS 2014 co-chair Rohit Verma. "We want to dig deeper. We want to learn about the process of innovation. We want to learn how to create that new knowledge. That is why our theme includes the phrase 'new science.' "
CHRS 2014 will also celebrate the best innovative practices by presenting an exemplary practice award. "We plan to build community around innovation by recognizing the best of innovative practices throughout the broadly defined hospitality and tourism industry," said Enz. "We encourage you to nominate your own practices or those of other industry leaders for this award." More information about nominations for the award will be available at the conference website soon.
