Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Resort in Puerto Rico Launches $32 Million Renovation

San Juan, Puerto Rico - July 2, 201 - Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort, the beach-front hotel destination in the Isla Verde section of San Juan, announces a $32 million renovation that will enhance the property's overall guest experience. The resort, which recently added a new oceanfront bar and lounge, is continuing property upgrades in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Set to begin in July 2013, the $32 million renovation will focus on guestroom enhancements including, upgrading bathrooms, living space, and decor. Slated for completion by November 2013, the property refresh will also include upgrades to the resort's ballroom, public spaces, and casino. Additional details include:

Room Rejuvenation - The resort will invest between $12,000 to $15,000 toward each of the 260 guestrooms and suites, updating them to include all-new furniture, curtains, bedding and bathrooms. The bathrooms will be upgraded with modern glass-walled showers and modern sinks. The One Bedroom Ocean Front Suites and Junior Ocean Front Suites will also receive upgraded wet bar areas with new cabinetry, floors and appliances.

Lobby, Ballroom and Public Space Transformation - The renovation will enhance the guest arrival experience by modernizing the entrance and lobby, creating more open spaces, adding water fountains and increasing natural light. The resort will also transform many of the public spaces by updating guest floor landings and hallways, enlarging the pool area, and re-carpeting, redecorating, and installing new lighting in the Casino del Sol. Additionally, the ballroom will be expanded under the renovation in order to accommodate larger groups, and all food and beverage outlets will receive new decorations and furniture.

Renowned interior design and architecture firm, Jorge Rossello, will revitalize the guestrooms, meeting space, casino, lobby and public spaces. Founded 40 years ago, Jorge Rossello provides architectural, interior design and space planning services on projects in the Caribbean, Central America and the United States. The company has significant design experience in Puerto Rico, and has worked on prominent hotels such as La Concha Resort and Hotel El Convento.
