Michael Falkenstein fills key role at The IronHorse Hotel

Milwaukee, WI - January 24, 2013 - Top hotel industry executive Michael Falkenstein was appointed General Manager of The Iron Horse Hotel on Dec. 3. Aparium Hotel Group, which manages the award-­-winning boutique hotel,recruited
Falkenstein to run day-­to-day operations and manage the hotel's more than 150 full=time, part-time and seasonal staff.

“Michael brings a unique combination of strong leadership skills, an eye for details and an internal sense of'cool'— all necessary to run the hotel efficiently and continue to provide the guest The Iron Horse Hotel experience,” said The Iron Horse Hotel owner Tim Dixon.

Falkenstein comes to Milwaukee from Atlanta, where he was the general manager at The Westin Buckhead, a posh hotel in the heart of Buckhead's shopping district. Over the past 15 years Falkenstein has successfully managed an eliteroup of boutique, small luxury and full-service hotels in major downtow nmarkets, including Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans, Chicagoa and SanFrancisco.

Falkenstein garnered long list of kudos and awards during his enigmatic career, including leading the New Orleans to an enviable spot on Travel+Leisure's list of the world's top 500 hotels and re-opening the French Quarter hotspot after a devastating hurricane in 2002.

Aparium Hotel Group recently announced a partnership with the Salyers Group and the City of Covington to develop and manage The Hotel Covington. The project represents the transformation of a celebrated, century-old downtown Covington building into a modern luxury hotel. As the first of its genre in th emarket, The Hotel Covington will appeal to business and leisure travelers accustomed to upscale hotels in primary markets seeking an authentic and locally influenced experience.
