Stamford's Newest Hotel: the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Stamford, CT

April 23, 2012 - April 17th, 2012 marked the opening of Stamford's newest hotel, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Stamford. This 100 room hotel was carved out of the Stamford Plaza Hotel and Conference Center which had operated under various flags since its construction in the early 1980's. It features a brand new lobby at the north end of the property with independent elevators to serve its guests.

Henry Topas, executive vice president of Rosdev hospitality, a Montreal based North American real estate firm stated he was proud of the job which was delivered by the local trades and of the cooperation received from all levels of local government in helping them get the project off the ground. Mr. Topas also praised the cooperation of Eugene Schreiner, vice president of First County Bank which served as the interim lender on the project.

The hotel features rooms which have been 100% renovated and updated with the latest in wi-fi technology and flat screen HD TV's. It also features 16 suites for extended stay guests. Each suite is appointed with a full service kitchen.

Mr. Topas explained that the balance of the Stamford Plaza will open in late summer as a Crowne Plaza and will also involved a complete renovation of all rooms and public areas.
