New Mazatlan Property for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
Las Villas Resort becomes the seventh Wyndham-branded hotel in the country.
NOVEMBER 3, 2011 - Mexico has always held an allure for Canadians — the culture, the beauty, the people, and the weather. And Mazatlan remains a popular destination of choice for many Canadians seeking a winter getaway, even for just a couple of weeks.
Recognizing the continuing attraction of the region, Wyndham Hotel Group LLC has added the 68-room Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan to the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand's growing portfolio. Las Villas Resort becomes the seventh Wyndham-branded hotel in the country.
The full-service resort, formerly the Las Villas Hotel & Spa, is owned by Club Acquisition Company of Colorado.
"Estrella del Mar has a significant contingent from Canada who own here, and the new partnership with a globally recognized hotel brand such as Wyndham further enhances our offering," says Pat Butler, president of Club Acquisition Company.
And for many Canadians visiting Mazatlan on a regular basis, the Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan is located inside the gates of an already recognized destination — Estrella del Mar. Sitting on about six kilometres of secluded beach, Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan is inside the gates of this master-planned community on 326 hectares along the Mexican Riviera.
"Mazatlan is one of Mexico's most renowned vacation settings, offering unforgettable retreats for travellers visiting this beautiful, diverse country," says Daniel del Olmo, Wyndham Hotel Group's senior vice-president and managing director of Latin America.
And with WestJet offering regular flights to Mazatlan, Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan and the palm-lined beaches and warm coastal waters are easily accessible. With WestJet, you can book year-round flights through Vancouver and Calgary and through Edmonton and Winnipeg on a seasonal basis.
"Direct access by WestJet takes people from the cold and snow of Calgary, let's say, to the warmth and sun of Mazatlan," says Butler.
Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan is just 10 kilometres from the General Rafael Buelna International Airport and approximately 32 kilometres from downtown Mazatlan.
"The addition of a first-class property in Mazatlan by the Wyndham Hotel Group demonstrates the brand's dedication to bringing upscale resort locations to popular destinations around the world," says del Olmo.
Guest rooms and suites at the Mexican colonial-style hotel feature travertine tile and marble floors, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access. And all accommodations offer private, furnished terraces or patios with ocean views.
Four restaurants and three full bars provide options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. And additional hotel offerings include an on-site fitness centre, business centre, library, concierge services and bilingual staff.
Just looking to hang out? Settle in at the infinity-edge pool, children's wading pool or in comfortable chaise lounges under palapas on the private beach. The luxurious Las Villas Spa offers in-spa, outdoor or in-room massage and body treatments as well as full salon and nail services.
Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan also provides guests with immediate access to various activities available within Estrella del Mar, including 18 holes of championship, oceanfront golf at the Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course. The on-site Turtle Preserve and Sanctuary gives guests the opportunity to view sea turtles and learn about local conservation efforts for free.
