Derek Grimaldi Elected to IACC Board of Directors
St. Louis, MO - October 20, 2011 - Peter J. Stockmann, President of IACC-The Americas, announced the election of Derek Grimaldi of Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre in London, Ontario to the Board of Directors. IACC Members in Canada unanimously elected Derek to fill the unexpired term of Anne McCaw of the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue in Vancouver, BC. He will be eligible for two additional terms when his current term ends on December 31, 2012.
Derek is General Manager of the Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre, located in London, Ontario and operated by Dolce Hotels & Resorts. Derek has been actively involved in the affairs of “IACC Canada” as the 2010 host of SPIN (Small Property Information Network), the Canadian SIG (Special Interest Group) and the Canadian Copper Skillet Competition.
The IACC Board of Directors has a total of 20 elected members and is comprised of persons who represent Active, Allied, Affinity Partner or Corporate Headquarters members in good standing.
As the governing body of IACC - The Americas, directors are actively involved on all its operating committees and task forces including Annual Conference, Quality, Sustainability, Marketing, Emerging Trends, Technology, Leadership Development and the IACC Learning Network.
IACC was organized to provide and promote market awareness of conference centers as offering separate, distinct and special places and services; to collect and distribute information on the industry and its trends; to provide an exchange of experiences among its members; to address common problems, needs and opportunities; to provide programs and services that assist members in operating more effectively; and to respond to the needs and interests of conference center users as determined by the Board of Directors.
