IHG Awarded the 'International Hospitality Excellence Award 2011' at CHIC
This year's award demonstrates the industry-wide recognition of IHG's long-term delivery of consistent best practices and excellence in development standards.
April 25, 2011 - IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), was recently awarded the 'International Hospitality Excellence Award 2011' at the China Hotel Investment Conference (CHIC), organised by leading global hotel consulting firm HVS. This year's award demonstrates the industry-wide recognition of IHG's long-term delivery of consistent best practices and excellence in development standards.
IHG also won the "Best Global Hotel Chain Operating in Greater China" at the 2011 TTG China Travel Awards - which IHG is winning for the third year.
Besides these, several IHG hotels were also recognised as leaders in their own market segment by winning in various categories at the TTG China Travel Awards:
- Best New Resort in China - InterContinental Sanya Resort
- Best Luxury Hotel in Shenzhen - InterContinental Shenzhen
- Best Mid-Range Hotel in Macau - Holiday Inn Macau
- Best Mid-Range Hotel in Guangzhou - Holiday Inn Guangzhou Shifu
- Best Business Hotel in Shenzhen - Crowne Plaza Shenzhen

Organised by HVS, the China Hotel Investment Conference (CHIC) event is one of the most influential hotel investment conferences in Greater China. The CHIC Awards pay recognition to industry leaders, rising talents and hotels that are raising the benchmark. They celebrate hotel development, best practices, industry talent and contributions to the growth of the industry in China.
The TTG China Travel Awards recognises the highest performing travel and tourism organisations, and are voted on by more than 32,000 readers of TTG China, TTG Asia, TTGmice and TTG-BTmice China. As TTG's readership consists primarily of fellow trade professionals, winners are considered to comprise the finest in China's travel and tourism sector, and the results also objectively reflect mainstream traveller's choices and needs.
