Halekulani Appoints Chi Hoon Bang DoS Asia
September 20, 2010 - Halekulani Corporation, which owns and manages Halekulani and Waikiki Parc Hotel in Oahu, Hawaii, announces the appointment of Chi Hoon Bang as Director of Sales Asia, effective September 17, 2010. He will be responsible for both Halekulani and Waikiki Parc Hotel's Asia sales division and strategic sales initiatives.
“Mr. Bang's firsthand knowledge and experience in Asia sales and marketing, strategic planning, and hotel operations will contribute to the continued strength and growth of Halekulani and Waikiki Parc Hotel in the Asia market,” said Peter Shaindlin, Chief Operating Officer of Halekulani Corporation. “In addition, Mr. Bang's global perspective coupled with his understanding of luxury service standards will serve to enhance our hotels' unparalleled experiences to international travelers.”
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Bang garnered much experience and a keen understanding of the Hawaii market, having been based in Hawaii serving as Regional Director of Marketing and Planning, Asia for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii; Director of Asia Sales for Westin Maui Resort, Princeville Resort and Sheraton Keauhou Resort; Asia Sales Manager for Sheraton Waikiki; and Hotel Assistant Manager for The Royal Hawaiian. His global experience has included his position as Vice-President of Acquisition and Hospitality Business of Asia Pacific Land, a real estate investment and management company based in Tokyo.
Mr. Bang holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Hotel & Restaurant Management & Tourism from the University of Denver, Colorado.
