David Lopez Named Director of Catering and Convention Services

Austin, TX - July 21, 2010 - Sharon Kilmartin, general manager at the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Lopez as the new Director of Catering and Convention Services.

Lopez began his career in 1993 as the Catering representative at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, Texas and subsequently held various management positions in the hotel catering and convention operations.
Prior to joining the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin, Lopez held the position of Sales, Marking and Financial consultant at True Flavors Catering in San Antonio for three years. Previous to this, he was the Director of Catering at the Hilton Palacio del Rio.
Lopez was honored with the Presidents Recognition Catering Excellence and the Chairman's Recognition Catering Excellence awards given by Hilton Hotels Corporation.
Lopez has been a member of the National Association of Catering Executives in San Antonio, Texas for the past 13 years; he currently holds the board position of treasurer.
