May 25, 2010 - San Diego may be known for its beach scene, but those wanting a break from the sand can still soak up the sun while enjoying a relaxed vibe at the Ivy Rooftop at Andaz San Diego. Launching Memorial Day weekend on May 30, guests can cool off in the pool or stretch out on a cushioned bed every Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. through September.

“Pool Party Sundays capture everything that's remarkable about summer including great food, outdoor entertainment, socializing and relaxation,” said Rusty Middleton, general manager of Andaz. “People generally head to the beach during the day and downtown at night but now we are offering the best of both worlds at the Ivy Rooftop. The celebration is sure to continue long after the sun sets.”

For those looking to quench their thirst, Ivy Rooftop's expert mixologists will serve up refreshing signature mojitos, caipirinhas or margaritas. An Endless Summer package is also available Saturday and Sunday and includes a poolside cabana, two bottles of premium liquor and mixers, Evian bottles, fresh fruit plate and a spa amenity kit including sunscreen, facial self tanner and lip balm.

The pool parties will kick off of May 30 with entertainment provided by local guest DJs and complimentary massages, manicures and pedicures offered by Spa Velia.

Featuring stunning wrap-around views of San Diego's downtown skyline, the Ivy Rooftop takes sun worshipping to a higher level and is the ideal place to perfect a tan surrounded by the exciting pulse of the city.
