Sheraton Debuts in Augusta, GA
DECEMBER 14, 2009 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announces the opening of Sheraton Augusta Hotel in Augusta, Georgia. Owned by Palmetto Hospitality and managed by The Newport Group, the 152-room hotel is the first Starwood property to open in Augusta in five years. Sheraton Augusta Hotel is also part of a $6 billion brand-wide global revitalization effort, which includes upgrading 100 hotels in the U.S., renovating 50,000 guest rooms and re-designing more than 100 new lobbies.
