Opportunities and Corporate Initiatives

. October 14, 2008

NEW ORLEANS, LA, August 7, 2006. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is supporting New Orleans' rebuilding efforts by offering guest volunteer opportunities and hands-on support during its annual director of sales conference in the city. During the conference, Aug. 7-10, directors of sales from around the country will split their time between attending meetings at The Bourbon Orleans - A Wyndham Historic Hotel and rebuilding homes in the Upper Ninth Ward through Habitat for Humanity's, Baptist Crossroads Project.

"As an industry innovator, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts strives to lead by example and build strong relationships within the communities it is found," said DC Becker, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "With two historic properties in New Orleans and a long-standing presence in the city, this meeting is the perfect opportunity to not only bring business back to the community, but also help rebuild its neighborhoods and restore its spirit."

For others traveling to New Orleans in search of opportunities to volunteer, both Wyndham Historic Hotels have partnered with Habitat for Humanity(R) in conjunction with two projects, the Baptist Crossroads Project and The Musicians Village, to build homes in the Upper Ninth Ward - the New Orleans neighborhood hit hardest by the floodwaters.

The projects are as follows:

SS The Baptist Crossroads Project is a major effort with the help of Habitat for Humanity to build 40 homes throughout the summer, with an extension of the program to build 400 homes in the next few years.

SS The Musicians' Village - a joint effort of Habitat for Humanity with Harry Connick, Jr., Branford Marsalis and Ellis Marsalis - is under construction across eight acres of land. The village will hold 81 homes and the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, an education and development resource for homeowners.

Room rates:

SS The Whitney offers $97 per night, which includes the single/double occupancy room, tax, complimentary parking and continental breakfast.

SS The Bourbon Orleans offers $99 per night, single/double occupancy room, tax, complimentary parking and continental breakfast.

"This conference is the perfect opportunity for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts' to give back to a community and help New Orleans preserve its rich history and reintroduce itself as a viable destination for both business and leisure travelers," said John Loconto, general manager of the Bourbon Orleans. "It is encouraging for all of us to see both the company and individual volunteers take ownership in the rebuilding of New Orleans."
