Hilton Cebu Resort Names Director of Sales & Marketing

DEBU and SINGAPORE, November 30, 2006. Peter Pedersen, General Manager of Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Samuel Gacos as Director of Sales & Marketing, effective 2 October 2006. Gacos will be responsible for driving leisure, corporate and MICE business within the Philippines and other key source markets in Asia.

Gacos's extensive experience in the hospitality industry spans 14 years, beginning from the Front Office and Sales Departments of Manila Hotel ---| the most historic and world renowned hotel in the Philippines. He later led the Sales team of A.I.M - Acceed Conference Center, the only recognized conference hotel in Manila that caters primarily to corporate accounts, providing services ranging from meeting arrangements to accommodation requirements. As the Sales Manager, Gacos played an instrumental role in planning, directing and implementing sales activities, geared towards maintaining regular accounts and growing the network of business contacts. Gacos later joined Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort and Spa, where he rose to become the Director of Business Development, honing his skills in business administration, business development and marketing. Prior to his assuming the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa, Gacos held the same position at the Traders Hotel Manila by Shangri-La.

Nestled in a private beach overlooking the emerald green waters of Mactan Island, the resort is Hilton's first foray in the Philippines after an absence of 17 years from the archipelago.
